Walking in nature
Nature lovers won't have to look far. Oostkamp is one of the most densely forested municipalities in West Flanders, and the surrounding area offers several beautiful walking domains.
Landscape Park Bulskampveld is the largest green expanse nearby. Its walking network boasts no less than 225 km of paths, seamlessly connected via a node system. Here, you can stroll along majestic tree-lined avenues, through dense forests, heathlands, and wide-open landscapes.
There is also plenty to discover closer to home. Domain Zorgvliet in Ruddervoorde is a 22-hectare woodland featuring deciduous forest, a natural pond, and remnants of the former castle estate. Kampveld and Nieuwenhovebos are also wonderful spots for a relaxing walk in the greenery.

By bike
You can also explore in any direction on two wheels. Using the cycling and walking node network, you can easily map out your own route through the Brugse Ommeland (Bruges Hinterland) and the Bulskampveld Landscape Park.

A day in Bruges
In the mood for a bit more hustle and bustle? Bruges is just a stone's throw away. Stroll along the scenic canals (reien), discover the Market Square and the Burg, wander through winding cobblestone streets, or simply enjoy a terrace and the historic atmosphere.
The historic city center is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Timeless highlights like the Belfry, the Beguinage, the Lake of Love (Minnewater), and the Rozenhoedkaai make Bruges the perfect destination for a wonderful day trip.
Catch a breath of fresh air at the coast
